I am writing to thank you sincerely for taking Sophie for her Clinical Elective period at your institution

Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) opened in 2003, and this was our first cohort of 120 students going on elective. There were obviously certain anxieties when initiating the Elective programme as a new venture - for example, we did not have established contacts from previous students or an administrative process when we began. We are therefore delighted to report that the feedback we have had from the students has been excellent - they have mostly had a genuine 'once in a life-time experience' that they will never forget and that I am sure will shape their medical lives.

We recognise the important role that you have played in making this happen and are therefore most grateful for the time and effort you have spent on their attachment. If you have any comments or feedback for us we would be very pleased to hear from you. Meanwhile we have enclosed a copy of their elective report for your interest.

We very much hope that you are willing to take future BSMS students and hope to be able to reciprocate the arrangement in the near future for those of you with your own students to place.
