Procedure for Admission to the MBBS, PT and OT Courses for those from outside Maharashtra

You have to take the All India Premedical entrance test conducted by the CBSE. This is usually held on the last Sunday of April of the Calendar year of the begiining the term of the medical dental collge (i.e for the term beginning in July/Aug 2008, the entrance exam will be in April 2008).Some of the details are as follows. The following applies or admission to 15% of the total seats for Medical / Dental Courses in all Medical / Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State Governments, municipal or other local authorities in India except the States of Andhra Pradesh & Jammu & Kashmir.

Scheme of Examination :


The examination will have one paper consisting of Physics, Chemistry & Biology carrying a max. of 800 marks. The candidates will
be required to find the correct answer & will darken the appropriate circle with Ball Point Pen.

Eligibility :

The candidate should be atleast 17 years of age on or before 31.12.200X, where 'X' is the year prior to the year of the examination.. To be eligible for competitive entrance examination, candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as mentioned in the information Bulletin. Provided also that to be eligible for competitive exam. the candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained a min. of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to SC/ ST or other backward classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. Those who are taking plus two examination in 2008 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

Information Bulletin / Application Form :

The Information Bulletin and Application Form can also be obtained by Speed Post/Registered Post by sending a written request with a Bank Draft/Demand Draft for Rs.450/- for General Category and Rs.250/- for SC/ST Category payable to the Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi along with a Self Addressed Envelope of size 12" x 10". Deputy Secretary (AIPMT), CBSE, 2, Community Centre, Preet Vihar, Delhi-110 092 on or before 10-11-2006 . Request received thereafter will not be entertained. The request should be super scribed as "Request for Information Bulletin and Application Form for AIPMT, 2008"

The Information Bulletin / Application Form can also be had by post by sending a MICR Draft of Rs. 250/ ( Rs. 150/- for SC / ST ), payable to the Secretary, C.B.S.E., New Delhi along with a self addressed envelope of size 12" x 10" ( without postage stamp ), from the Deputy Secretary, CBSE, All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination Unit, 17-B, I.P. Estate, New Delhi- 110002. If the candidate fails to enclose the self addressed envelope of appropriate size, the CBSE shall not be responsible for non-despatch of Information- Bulletin & Application Form.
