Instructions for newly admitted postgraduate students admitted through:

  1. PGM CET, Local quota / All India Entrance examination quota and
  2. MHSSET

for various postgraduate diploma and degree courses at the Seth G. S. Medical College .

Congratulations on your selection and welcome to these institutions!!

The instructions below will walk you through the paperwork involved in your getting enrolled in the college. Please read the instructions carefully and follow them so as to avoid any inconvenience to you or the office staff.

The Post graduate section (college office) of the Seth GS Medical College is situated on the ground floor of the College building and for admission purposes is open between 11.00 AM and 1.00 PM and 2.00 PM and 3.30 PM on all days (except Sundays, public holidays and 2 nd Saturdays and 4 th. Saturdays)

While reporting to the college for admission, please get along with you the following:

  1. Selection letter from All India/PGM-CET/MHSSET.
  2. All original certificates and two attested copies of each of them as per the following list.

Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued on or before 01/04/2008 and Non-creamy layer certificate valid upto 31/03/2010 (MD / MS / Diploma DM / M.Ch. candidate for DT / VJ, NT-1, NT2, NT3, OBC, SBC.

Valid Registration certificate from respective state medical Council obtained on or before 15/04/2009 .

Migration certificate issued by the respective University (If applicable)

Self Educational Gap ( IF the GAP is more than 6 months after completion of internship / qualifying Degree) Affidavit by student (If applicable)

Medical Fitness certificate / Physically Handicapped certificate.

Affidavit for change in Name – A copy of Govt. Gazette, Marriage Registration Certificate.

(Please note that the MUHS charges a fine of Rs.50/- per day for late submission of certificates for a period upto 15 days after the last day of admission.)

  1. A good quality file should be used to file the above certificates and their copies in the following order.
    Originals at the top and set 1 of certified photocopies followed by the second set of the photocopies at the bottom.
    This bunch of three sets should be inserted into a plastic folder with punch holes on the side and this plastic folder should be filed in the file above.
  2. Students should also get along with them the following demand drafts/pay orders (along with two xerox copies of each of the drafts/payorders).

A. In case of Diploma candidates

i. If MBBS from MUHS University

ii. If MBBS from University other than MUHS

B. In case of MD/MS/DM/MCh. candidates ;

i. If MBBS from MUHS University for MD/MS candidates and MD / MS from MUHS for DM/MCh candidates

  1. A Demand Draft / Pay order in favour of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai payable in Mumbai for the sum of Rs.19,000/- and
  2. A Demand Draft / Pay order in favour of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai payable in Mumbai for the sum of Rs.4,250/- and
  3. A Demand Draft / Pay order in favour of Dean, Seth GS Medical College payable in Mumbai for the sum of Rs.1,300 /- and
  4. A Demand Draft / Pay order in favour of Seth GS Medical College Gymkhana, payable in Mumbai for the sum of Rs.1,500 /- and
  5. Rs. 520/- as cash for cost of application form.

ii. If MBBS from university other than MUHS for MD/MS candidates and MD / MS from university other than MUHS for DM/MCh candidates

    1. A Demand Draft / Pay order in favour of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai payable in Mumbai for the sum of Rs.19,000/- and
    2. A Demand Draft / Pay order in favour of Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai payable in Mumbai for the sum of Rs.4,250/- and
    3. A Demand Draft / Pay order in favour of Dean, Seth GS Medical College payable in Mumbai for the sum of Rs.6,500 /- and
    4. A Demand Draft / Pay order in favour of Seth GS Medical College Gymkhana, payable in Mumbai for the sum of Rs.1,500 /- and
    5. Rs. 520/- as cash for cost of application form

  1. Four passport size colour photographs
  2. Once you report to the college office as per “A” above, please submit the file with certificates and the demand drafts to the clerk in charge of admission for verification.
  3. Once verified, the clerk will return all the certificates to you and provide you with a blank agreement form and ask you to pay the fees in the cash section of the college office.
  4. Once you do this, you have to take the blank agreement form, undertaking form and get it franked with Rs.100 adhesive stamp from any of the following locations. Govt. Stamp House, situated at basement of Asiatic Library / Mint Road, Near C.S.T., Mumbai – 400 001. / Apana Sahakari Bank, Near Mahatma Gandhi Hospital , Parel, Mumbai 400 012.
  5. You now have to fill the application form complete in all respect as also duly fill the agreement form.
  6. These two forms have to be added to the file of certificates and submitted back to the clerk in charge.
  7. All Students (For MD / MS / Diploma candidate, PGM-CET and AIEECET) seeking admission to postgraduate courses will be under Bond to serve the Government of Maharashtra for 1 year after completion of post graduate studies or will have to pay Rs.15 Lakhs in default. In case of all DM / M.Ch. candidates, they will be under Bond to serve the Govt. of Maharashtra for 1 year after completion of graduate studies or will have pay Rs. 30 Lakhs in default. The Bond default rates are subject to change as per the decision of DMER/Govt. of Maharashtra .
  8. Students seeking admission for post graduate courses should complete full residency tenure, failing which he / she will be required to pay Rs. 1,00,000/- (i.e. for non completion of Residency tenure). However, this is not applicable to the candidate of PGM-CET 2009 / MHSSCET 2009, resigning the PG registration before the date prescribed by DMER.
  9. At the time of commencement of residency (typically on 02.05.09 or 01.08.09 as the case may be) P.G. students are required to submit P.G. registration and enrollment form of MUHS, Nashik (you have to download this form from www.muhsnashik.com) University, duly signed by the P.G. teacher and H.O.D. of the concerned department, to post graduate section, college office within seven days of joining of residency.\
  10. All the candidates are required to join the residency immediately as per dates mentioned above. Extension for joining late will not be granted under any circumstances.
  11. Students are required to keep valid Identity card with them. Please collect the identity card from the college office within a month of joining residency.
  12. P.G. students (degree courses) are required to submit the name of topic of dissertation within six months of admission with recommendation of Ethics Committee.
  13. All applications / request letters will be addressed to Director (M.E.& M.H), Seth G. S. Medical College and forwarded through the proper channel / H.O.D. concerned.
  14. Students are hereby informed that residential quarters are limited and only shared accommodation will be provided as per the prevailing situation. They will also have to be abide by disciplinary rules of Government / MCGM / MUHS and these institutions.
  15. Students are requested to contact concerned Warden regarding Hostel accommodation.
