The department was established in 1959 and is presently headed by Dr. Parimala Subramaniam. There are trained staff members who are already conducting training for adolescent girls' initiative for medical officers and public health nurses.

Leadership development for HIV AIDS prevention -

Course Details -
The objective is to develop managerial skills conducive to implement National AIDS Control Programs. The training will consist of group discussion, inter active lectures, role plays, problem solving exercises related to problems encountered in HIV/AIDS including human sexuality, rights protection and attitudinal development.

Employees of government and semigovernment agencies, NGOs, paramedical personnel, teachers, MSWs and general practiotioners.
