Paediatric Anaesthesia

Background History

The Pediatric Anesthesia Fellowship course was started in the year 2009 under the aegis of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) with Dr Madhu Garasia as Professor & Head of Department and Dr Nandini Dave as Associate Professor . The intake capacity was 2 students per year. The DM Pediatric Anesthesia course was started in 2014 for the first time in India after MCI approval. The course is affiliated to MUHS and is NMC recognised. The first batch of students to be admitted were Dr Raylene Dias and Dr Priyanka Karnik. The Department of Paediaric Anaesthesia was established as a separate Department on 8th April 2018. Since then every year we have an intake capacity of 2 DM students and 2 fellowship candidates.
